Only Cale....

At the Mall:  Cale went #2 and it was bad. Gramma handled me a wipe and I used it. I didn't realize it was a Clorox bleach wipe. Cale said "my cinnies are on fire!!".   Poor kid.

While out to eat: "Mom I'm going to get winey"

Waiting at the elevator at the hotel:
Cale: "Mom, I think there is a turd in my undies".
Me: "Are you sure?"
Cale: "I will check".....(He puts his hand down the back of his undies, pulls it out, sniffs his fingers),,,, and said "yep".

Me and my Goose-Poo

Swim Lessons

Cale just finished up 3 weeks of swim lessons.  He even enjoyed jumping off the diving board (eventually).

Creepy one-armed clown

I helped my mom clean out some of my stuff from her basement (a million stuffed animals....most were mine but not all). This creepy thing was not mine...my mom has no idea where it came from. It creeped Cale out....SO I brought it home, washed it and put it on his dresser while he was sleeping.

Bed-time thoughts

Cale: "when I grow up I am going to get a job".
Me: "what job?"
Cale: "I think I am going to walk around all day and pick up trash".

Toys for CoCo

We went to a class at the Waterloo Center for the Arts and made CoCo a few toys.  Cale had a lot of fun and CoCo actually plays with all of the toys.

Random Goose Pictures

Oh, this kid.  He always keeps me on my toes and I never know what's coming next!

Making Gramma's present

Cale loved helping uncle Ryan make Gramma's birthday present.  Cale even got to use the chainsaw & drill.

Garden

Cale has been begging me to plant a garden...so we bought a raised planter and planted strawberries, snap peas, cucumbers, mint, parsley, regular tomatoes and cherry tomatoes.

School Carnival

Cale LOVED the school carnival.  He had so much fun!  We bought tickets and he got to do so many fun things....he had his palm read, face painted, dressed up, threw TP into a toilet, played in the bouncy houses, went fishing for prizes and so many other things.  I paid 2 tickets to put him in jail.

Gramma's Birthday

We spent the weekend in WI for gramma's birthday again this year.  Highlights of the trip:

  • The Durango went "swimming"....AKA we went on a ferry.
  • We bought real fireworks.
  • Morel mushroom festival!!
  • 2 nights in a hotel (including swimming)
  • A day at Circus World where we went to a magic show.  Cale volunteered to help and was asked to tell the audience a joke (he even had a microphone).  Cale: "Why did the turtle cross the road?".  Magician: "Why?".  Cale: looks at me....I say, "why buddy?"  He said, "I DON'T KNOW"....he completely forgot the answer and it was hilarious.
  • Going on a haunted mansion tour....with a spirit reader machine.  Cale kept asking when we were going to do this, I finally said, "if one more person says haunted mansion, we aren't going".  So then everyone said, "HM"....instead of haunted mansion.  The mansion was the original Ringling Brothers home.
  • Training ride in New Freedom.  My parents took me to this when I was little.  We toured the museum and then took a 45 minute train ride.  We got to sit in the caboose.  It was so much fun.
  • We couldn't decide where to eat, I noticed on the Garmin a Subway was a few miles away.  So, I said, "well, there's a subway".  Cale said, "Eat Fresh".  HILARIOUS!
  • We left the hotel Saturday morning to head to the mushroom festival....we went about 2 blocks and saw a fireworks store so I pulled in.  Cale said, "is this the hotel??".  We literally could still see the hotel we just left.
  • We bought a lot of candy at the Baraboo candy store.
  • Cale absolutely loved calling Gramma & Uncle Ryan's room at the hotel.

Birthday celebrations!

We spent the entire 1st weekend in May celebrating Cale's 6th birthday!  On Friday night we went to the school carnival.  Saturday morning started out at the Farmer's Market, then we headed out to Barn Happy (a birthday tradition...smoothie and all) where the entire store sang happy birthday and Cale got to dance with Kris again.

Next we went to the "Fun Day in the Country".  Cale got his face painted, planted a flower (it's still alive!), played on the new jungle gym, made a May-Day basket, watched a science experiment show and had a picnic under a tree.

Our next stop was at the Cinco De Mayo celebration in downtown Waterloo.  Cale jumped in the inflatable jump houses, did some art work, pinned the tail on the donkey and beat the #@(&$!& out of the pinata....candy was everywhere.

Sunday was the official birthday party.  This year was Scooby-Doo!  I love seeing Cale's face when he walks into the house and sees all of the decorating I do.  He absolutely loves it...it's completely worth all the time I put into it.  His favorite presents were the metal detector (from uncle Ryan), the magic show kit (from me) and the toy ball with a feather (from CoCo).  He thought it was hilarious CoCo got him a present that she could play with.

Finally, on Tuesday I surprised Cale at school with cupcakes.  He was worried I forgot that parents are supposed to bring in treats.
