Dos

Here's what happened an hour ago tonight....Cale and one of his BFF's (Camryn - our neighbor) went out back to play on his play-set.  After about 10 minutes I noticed she was running home...another couple of minutes later I decided to look out back to see what Cale was doing.  Right away I noticed he was trying to pull up his pants.  Here's how the conversation went (I was on the deck and he was at the play-set...so we were yelling back and forth):

Me: "Cale, what are you doing??!!"
Cale: "Nothing"
Me: "Then why are your pants down?"
Cale: "Nothing"
Me: "Cale.....what are you doing"
Cale: "Mommy, you're not going to get mad are you?"
Me: "No" (thinking to myself...I bet he went #1 outside).
Cale: "I went poop outside....I went Dos" (you know, the Spanish version of #2).
Me: "WHAT!"
Cale: "Can you please come wipe my butt??" (yes, he said please).
Me: "NO....get in the house!"
Cale: "But Camryn just went to get some paper towels..."
Me: "Cale Robert Clark -- get in here"
Cale: "You said you wouldn't be mad...remember??" -- he then walked all the way in (we have a big backyard) with his pants (and underwear) down!

And yes...there was poo all over the back of his buns and legs.

Swim Lessons - Year #3

Cale passed his 3rd year in swim lessons (he's officially an Eel).  He's doing really well at his back-stroke, front floating and arm/leg treading.

He's definitely my son!

We went to a wedding in MN a couple weeks ago.  Cale is definitely my son!  He loves to dance and was the 1st person to request a song (Single Ladies). 

Branson, MO

Cale, my mom and I spent 4 days in Branson, MO in early July.  What a trip!  I love making memories with that kid...he is amazing.  We had so much fun doing the Old Time Photos, Zip-lining, riding the Ducks, going to the Dixie Stampede, spending time at the Titanic museum and 2 days at Silver Dollar City.

We ate dinner at Dick Clark's American Bandstand grill, spent time at the Landing (each night they had a fire and ice show with lights, fountains and fire), shopped at Dick's 5 & 10 (Cale bought a farting pen), went swimming in the hotel pool and had good BBQ.  To see some pictures and our experiences, click on the links below.

Old Time Photos

I've wanted to do the Old Time Photos for a long time....we went in, I told them I wanted to do a "western" theme and they whisked me away to get ready.  In the mean time, they got Cale into his outfit....a sheriff.  We had such a great time doing this....Cale really got into it and had everyone in the place laughing with his poses. 

Zip-lining

Cale and I went Zip-lining on our 1st day in Branson.  What an experience!  We went down 7 lines (one was 2,000 feet long), went up to 50 mph and walked across wobbly bridges to get to the next "station".  Cale even got to zip-line down the last line by himself!  I think this was my favorite part of the trip and Cale had so much fun (he was kinda scared at the 1st drop...and I was secretly a little scared too). 

Silver Dollar City

We spent 2 days at Silver Dollar City....it was just like I remembered it from the 80's.  Cale and I went on a lot of rides....numerous times.  Rollercoasters, American Plunge, Lost River of the Ozarks, the Frisco Silver Dollar Line Steam Train (we were part of a "hold-up") and played in Geyser Gulch.  We also went to a show...The Silver Dollar Saloon where we drank root-beer floats and ate peanuts.

 

Ride the Ducks

We spent a couple hours on a Duck tour....we went through the scenic Ozarks, climbed to the top of Baird mountain, went past Table Rock Damn, checked out the historic American Military Vehicle graveyard and took a cruise on Table Rock Lake.  Cale got to drive the Duck on Table Rock Lake!

Dixie Stampede

We went to the Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede Dinner on Tuesday evening.  The show included a four-course meal.  We had rotisserie chicken, veggie soup, homemade biscuits, corn on the cob, herb potato's and an apple dessert.  I should mention we ate all of this food with our hands....no utensils!  While we ate, we watched numerous animals do stunts...horses, buffalo, chickens, sheep, goats, mini-horses, pigs, birds....we also participated in a North and South competition (the South won....BOOOOO).  We did get to meet all of the horses in the show and of course, the horse named Goose took a big #2 while we were with him.  Cale thought it was hilarious....and I thought it was spot on.  :-)

Titanic Museum

We spent an afternoon at the Titanic Museum in Branson.  Each of us received a boarding pass of an actual Titanic passenger.  We got to experience what it was like to walk the hallways, parlors, cabins and Grand Staircase of the Titanic.  There were more than 400 artifacts directly from the ship and its passengers.  We got to touch a real iceberg, walk the Grand Staircase and third class hallways and put our hands into 28-degree water.  I tried (and failed) to stand on the sloping decks...Cale made it further up than I did.
                         

At the end of the tour, we found out that all three of our Titanic passenger names actually survived.
